SHOULDER SURGERY | LAS VEGAS
Dr. Andrew Lee, MD. Board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. Motion preservation specialist. Nevada Spine Clinic, Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
Dr. Andrew Lee treats shoulder conditions at Allegiant Spine Clinic in Las Vegas with the same motion-first philosophy that guides every joint he operates on. From rotator cuff repair to total shoulder replacement, his approach prioritizes restoring the shoulder’s full range of motion and returning patients to the activities they love.
The damaged ball and socket of the shoulder joint are replaced with prosthetic components that replicate natural anatomy. Dr. Andrew Lee performs total shoulder arthroplasty in Las Vegas for patients with shoulder arthritis and an intact rotator cuff.
Patients with glenohumeral arthritis and a functional rotator cuff causing pain and loss of motion.
Sling 4 to 6 weeks. Light activity 3 months.
Full recovery 6 to 12 months.
The ball and socket positions are reversed in the implant design, allowing the deltoid muscle to power shoulder movement when the rotator cuff is absent or irreparable. Dr. Lee performs reverse shoulder replacement in Las Vegas for complex cases including massive rotator cuff tears with arthritis.
Patients with rotator cuff tear arthropathy, massive irreparable rotator cuff tears, or failed prior shoulder replacement.
Sling 4 to 6 weeks. Light activity 3 months.
Full recovery 6 to 12 months.
When a prior shoulder replacement has failed due to loosening, instability, infection, or implant wear, revision surgery is required. Dr. Andrew Lee manages complex shoulder revision cases at Nevada Spine Clinic in Las Vegas including cases referred by other surgeons.
Patients with failed prior shoulder replacement presenting with pain, instability, stiffness, or implant failure.
Recovery 6 to 12 months depending on
complexity.
The rotator cuff is a group of four tendons that stabilize the shoulder and power its movement. When torn, it causes pain, weakness, and loss of function. Dr. Lee repairs rotator cuff tears arthroscopically in Las Vegas using minimally invasive technique through small incisions.
Patients with partial or full-thickness rotator cuff tears causing shoulder pain, weakness, and reduced overhead function.
Sling 6 weeks. Physical therapy 3 to 6 months.
Full recovery 6 to 12 months.
The shoulder labrum is the cartilage that deepens the socket and anchors the biceps tendon. Labral tears cause instability, pain, and clicking. Dr. Lee repairs shoulder labral tears arthroscopically and addresses associated instability in appropriate candidates.
Patients with shoulder instability, SLAP tears, or Bankart lesions causing pain, clicking, or recurrent dislocation.
Sling 4 to 6 weeks. Return to sport 4 to 6
months.
Shoulder arthroscopy allows Dr. Lee to diagnose and treat a range of shoulder conditions through small incisions using a tiny camera and instruments. Conditions addressed include impingement, loose bodies, biceps tendon pathology, and partial tears.
Patients with shoulder impingement, loose bodies, biceps tendon issues, or conditions requiring diagnostic evaluation.
Sling 1 to 2 weeks. Return to light activity 4
to 6 weeks.
