KNEE SURGERY | LAS VEGAS
Dr. Andrew Lee, MD. Board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. Motion preservation specialist. Nevada Spine Clinic, Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
Dr. Andrew Lee treats knee conditions at Nevada Spine Clinic in Las Vegas across the full spectrum of orthopaedic care. From ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair in active patients to total knee replacement for advanced arthritis, his goal is always the same: the least intervention that achieves the best long-term outcome. When knee replacement is appropriate, Dr. Lee evaluates whether total or partial replacement better preserves the patient’s natural anatomy and function.
The entire knee joint is resurfaced with metal and plastic components that replicate natural knee function. Dr. Andrew Lee performs total knee arthroplasty in Las Vegas for patients with advanced knee arthritis that has not responded to conservative treatment.
Patients with advanced knee arthritis, pain with daily activities, and significant loss of function unresponsive to conservative care.
Walking same day. Light activity 4 to 6 weeks.
Full recovery 3 to 6 months.
Only the damaged compartment of the knee is replaced, preserving healthy bone, cartilage, and ligaments in the unaffected areas. Dr. Lee performs unicompartmental knee replacement in Las Vegas for patients with isolated medial or lateral compartment arthritis.
Patients with arthritis isolated to one knee compartment with intact ligaments and healthy remaining cartilage.
Faster recovery than total replacement. Light12
activity 3 to 4 weeks. Full recovery 2 to 3 months.
When a prior knee replacement has failed due to loosening, wear, infection, or instability, revision surgery is required. Dr. Andrew Lee manages complex knee revision cases at Nevada Spine Clinic in Las Vegas including cases referred by other surgeons.
Patients with failed prior knee replacement presenting with pain, instability, stiffness, or implant failure.
Recovery 3 to 6 months depending on complexity
and reason for revision.
The anterior cruciate ligament is the primary stabilizer of the knee against forward tibial movement and rotation. When torn it causes instability and limits athletic activity. Dr. Lee reconstructs the ACL in Las Vegas using graft tissue to restore knee stability and function.
Patients with ACL tears causing knee instability, particularly those who wish to return to sport or high-demand activities.
Brace and crutches 2 to 4 weeks. Return to
sport 6 to 9 months.
The posterior cruciate ligament prevents the tibia from sliding backward. PCL tears are less common than ACL but can cause significant instability. Dr. Lee reconstructs the PCL in Las Vegas for patients with symptomatic instability that has not resolved with conservative care.
Patients with PCL tears causing posterior knee instability, pain, or dysfunction not resolved with rehabilitation.
Return to light activity 6 to 8 weeks. Return
to sport 6 to 12 months.
The menisci are C-shaped cartilage pads that cushion and stabilize the knee. When torn they cause pain, swelling, and mechanical symptoms. Dr. Lee repairs meniscal tears arthroscopically in Las Vegas, prioritizing preservation over removal whenever the tear pattern allows.
Patients with meniscal tears causing knee pain, swelling, locking, or catching. Repair preferred over removal when possible.
Crutches 4 to 6 weeks for repair. Return to
sport 4 to 6 months.
Knee arthroscopy allows Dr. Lee to diagnose and treat a range of knee conditions through small incisions. Conditions addressed include loose bodies, cartilage damage, synovitis, and meniscal pathology not requiring formal repair.
Patients with mechanical knee symptoms, loose bodies, synovitis, or conditions requiring diagnostic evaluation and treatment.
Return to light activity 1 to 2 weeks. Full
recovery 4 to 6 weeks.
